You are in for an exciting year here in the Grimmer Band! Not only will we be learning to play those instruments, we will be showing off how well we are doing. We will be performing for family and friends at our Winter Concert on Friday, December 3, 2010. Our next concert will be on Thursday, March 17, 2011. We will again perform at our Spring Concert on Friday, May 13, 2011. Make sure to mark your calendars! We will also perform with the 7th & 8th grade bands for the staff and students at our in-school December holiday assembly. I love an opportunity to show what great things are going on in Band!!
In the summer mailing that you received, there was a flier which described the concert wear items that your student is required to wear for all of our concerts. We suggest that you try to purchase these on your own. If you have difficulty finding the items at local stores, some of these items will be available to order through the music office. Please watch for this form to come home, or print off of our “forms” page on this website.
Grimmer Band t-shirts & sweatshirts will be available to order this fall. What a great way to promote the band to other students and friends. They are required attire at our assembly, so make sure to watch for this order form as well. This form is also available for you to print off of our “forms” page on this website
If your child is currently taking private lessons, I highly encourage you to allow them to continue. If your child is not taking lessons, I recommend that at some point, you look into some private lessons. We have a wonderful group of instructors available. Lessons are 30 minutes long and the cost is $15.00. This small financial investment is well worth the one on one tutoring and advancement that your child will receive due to these lessons. Contact the music office for our instructors’ names/phone numbers.
